Mary Lawrence

Mary Lawrence, born on the 14th September 1879 in Liverpool, Lancashire, was the fourth daughter of Alice Jones and Abraham  Lawrence. The family resided at 64 Gilbert Street in 1881 and later at 14 Kent Street in 1891. Mary was baptised at the parish church of St Peter, Liverpool, on 11 July 1880.

Following the death of her mother, Alice, in 1896, Mary married Charles Ramos in 1897, a labourer of African descent from the Azores, Portugal. Together they lived at Abraham Lawrence's house at 18 Upper Pitt Street. 

The couple went on to have six children. By the time of the 1911 census, the family lived at 11 Kent Street.

Mary Lawrence died in October 1911 in Liverpool, Lancashire, when she was 32 years old of teburculosis.
